How school assignment works here
Hillsborough County Public Schools assigns students by home address. Boundaries do not follow subdivision lines or ZIP codes, and they can change. Two homes on the same street can be assigned to different schools, so we never assume an assignment from a listing description or a neighbor.
The district also runs school choice options, including magnet and career academy programs, and there are charter and private schools across the east side. Applications and deadlines are set by the district and each school.
Check any address yourself
- Hillsborough County Public Schools: the school locator, boundaries, enrollment and school choice.
- Florida Department of Education school grades: the state's official A to F grades, published each year.
- Florida school report cards: test results, enrollment and more for every public school.
We share school facts and official sources, not opinions about which neighborhood is right for which family. That choice is yours. Ask us about any home and we will confirm its assigned schools with the district before you write an offer.
