The VA loan, in plain terms
No down payment for most eligible buyers
VA-backed purchase loans generally do not require a down payment, as long as the price does not exceed the appraised value.
No monthly mortgage insurance
Unlike most low-down-payment loans, VA loans do not carry private mortgage insurance.
A one-time funding fee
Most borrowers pay a VA funding fee, which can be rolled into the loan. Veterans receiving VA disability compensation are generally exempt.

Eligibility, entitlement and the exact fee depend on your service history. A lender confirms them with your Certificate of Eligibility. We can connect you with one.
